Marine Park. A few years ago this was riprap and old concrete rubble. Nice view, but no beach, no easy way to the water, a mess. But the rock was pulled out, some of the fill removed, and a small pocket beach built. Where waves can only approach from a single direction, pocket beaches can be very stable and highly predictable. At this site, waves can approach from a variety of directions and the beach's behavior over time may be a bit more complicated. The basic geometry should work great, though I wish they would plant beach grass and add large logs in the backshore. This beach would be a great place to launch kayaks and it is a great contrast to the railroad grade to the south and the industrial edge to the north.
